BALENCIAGA 3XL SKI


     For its AW23 collection, Balenciaga introduces a capsule inspired by the world of skiing, reimagining the iconic 3XL sneaker with crampons and adapting the shoe's CMF (Color, Material, Finish) design to align with this theme.

      I had the privilege of working passionately on this project with Beini Qian, Sneakers Senior Designer, during the end of my internship at the house. 

Having grown up in an exclusively high mountain-oriented environment, the design proposals felt like a natural extension of my DNA. I was able to bring all my knowledge to bear in contributing to the development of this shoe.

      Ultimately, we were able to deliver a winterized version of the 3XL carry-over, featuring with a fully fleece-lined interior.
      The crampons are the result of extensive research and analysis of various existing mountaineering models. I then created a fully handmade prototype, which served as the basis for developing technical drawings for the factories.
